Here’s what's in store for you today:
📰 Sherry Hoppen – She Surrenders
📰 Sober Success: Jessica Miller’s Mission to Help College Students Thrive
📰 Erica Straight – Sisters of Sobriety
📰 Ramona Lumpkin: From Struggle to Strength in Recovery
📰 Samantha Reagan – Reach For Recovery
1️⃣ Sherry Hoppen – She Surrenders
Meet Sherry Hoppen — a super brave lady who said “see ya later!” to booze and now helps other women do the same. She’s kind of like a recovery superhero with a Bible in one hand and a coffee in the other (decaf, probably). Sherry used to struggle with alcohol, but now she shares her story loud and proud through her blog, podcast, and book called Sober Cycle. Instead of hiding her past, she uses it to help other women get strong, stay sober, and maybe even laugh a little along the way. She's not just about rules and “don’ts” — she mixes faith, hope, and real-life tips to make recovery feel possible (and a little less scary). Whether you're lost in the liquor aisle or just need a pep talk, Sherry’s got your back. Basically, she turned her mess into a message — and it's a pretty awesome one!
2️⃣ Sober Success: Jessica Miller’s Mission to Help College Students Thrive
Jessica Miller is the leader of a program called CREW, which stands for Collegiate Recovery, Education, and Wellness. Basically, she helps college students stay sober while juggling homework, exams, and figuring out how to use the campus laundry machines. Jessica has been with Ten16 Recovery Network since 2016, but before that, she worked in colleges for over ten years. She’s a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor—fancy words that mean she really knows how to help people in recovery. Jessica is also in long-term recovery herself, so she truly understands what students are going through. She created the CREW program to help students reach their school and life goals without needing to rely on booze or bad decisions. With Jessica around, college kids have a better shot at staying sober and passing math. Now that’s what we call a double win! 🎓👏
3️⃣ Erica Straight – Sisters of Sobriety
Erica Straight is like a real-life rockstar—but instead of a guitar, she rocks kindness and recovery skills! She graduated from the Sisters of Sobriety (SOS) program and loved it so much, she stuck around to help others as a house manager. Helping other women find their way to a sober life filled her heart with joy and gave her life new meaning—kind of like discovering your hidden superpower!
Now back home in Gaylord, Michigan (with her family and furry pets), Erica is still on a mission. She’s a certified peer recovery coach, helping others find their own way to sobriety, and she even volunteers with NMSAS. Oh, and she’s studying to become a full-on alcohol and drug counselor—because helping people is her jam. Erica says SOS gave her the tools for a happy, sober life, and now she’s passing that magic toolbox to others.
4️⃣Ramona Lumpkin: From Struggle to Strength in Recovery
Ramona Lumpkin is a super helper who works at the Recovery Institute in Michigan. She helps people, especially kids and minorities, fight addiction and stay on track. Ramona’s been through tough times herself—she used to struggle with addiction but found a way out with help and a lot of courage. Now, she coaches others so they can get better too.
She comes from a family full of strong women like musicians and teachers, but she once felt like the "black sheep." Today, Ramona is proud and uses her own experience to help others. She believes that true recovery is about trust, smiles, and being dependable. Ramona’s secret to staying strong? Her faith, family, and a big heart that’s all about lifting others up. She’s on a mission to make the future brighter for everyone!
5️⃣Samantha Reagan – Reach For Recovery
Samantha has been rocking recovery since 2017—like, long-term superstar style! She’s now a Peer Recovery Coach, which means she helps others who are on their own recovery journeys by sharing her own experiences. Thanks to recovery, Samantha’s life got a big upgrade: she’s got a steady job, a loving husband, and two awesome daughters she gets to watch grow up (which is pretty amazing). She believes her past struggles aren’t just tough stories—they’re like secret superpowers she uses to help others. Her mission? To meet people exactly where they’re at and cheer them on as they work toward feeling better. Basically, Samantha’s proof that recovery isn’t just about surviving—it’s about thriving and paying it forward with a big heart and lots of hope!
