1ļøāƒ£ From Booze to 5Ks: How Recovery Runners Are Jogging Their Way to Joy (and Chocolate Eggs)

Dean and Jamie used to party a little too hard—like, ā€œ24-hour drink-a-thonā€ hard. But one day, instead of picking up a pint, they picked up their running shoes, and boom—Recovery Runners was born! šŸƒā€ā™‚ļøšŸ’Ø

What started as two dudes panting through 5Ks turned into a full-on running club in Leeds that helps people recovering from all kinds of struggles—alcohol, drugs, anxiety, eating disorders, even long Covid. Every Sunday, 40–50 people lace up at Reynolds Boxing Academy for a dose of sweat and good vibes.

One runner, Charlotte, even went from ā€œshuffle, cry, pukeā€ to full-on marathoner—she says the club saved her life. (Talk about leveling up.)

But it’s not just running. These Recovery Runners bring Easter eggs, donate toys, and help local food banks. So yes, they’re literally running the world better—one step, one snack, one smile at a time. šŸ£šŸ‘ŸšŸ’™

2ļøāƒ£ How Shaun Weiss Turned a Rough Patch into a Power Play

Shaun Weiss, the guy who played Goldberg in Mighty Ducks, went through some tough times. After his fame in the '90s, he found himself battling meth addiction and homelessness. He hit rock bottom with a few arrests, but in 2018, he entered rehab. Even though he was in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, Shaun says it actually helped his recovery. Why? Because the whole world was watching, and he didn't want to let his fans down! People sent him tons of letters saying how his movies like Heavyweights made them feel better about themselves. Shaun realized he mattered to people, and that support was a game-changer. Even though he struggled with boredom and a void in his life, he eventually found the strength to turn things around with the help of rehab, fans, and a whole lot of determination.

3ļøāƒ£Sober Bars and Daddy Duties: Royce Da 5'9'' Trades Shots for Snuggles

Rapper Royce Da 5'9'' used to be famous for his sharp rhymes, but behind the cool lyrics was a messy life. He started drinking heavily at 21 and made some really bad choices—including cheating on his wife. Instead of going to college or getting a regular job, Royce jumped straight into the music world and... well, let’s just say he didn’t exactly grow up right away. His wife, who had been with him since they were teens, ended up hurt by all the drama. Now, Royce is sober, wiser, and a super proud dad to five kids. He’s finally realizing how awesome it is to be present and enjoy family life—especially with his two little daughters, who he says made him feel like he’s falling in love all over again. He’s also bonding with his oldest son, who wants to be a rapper too. Basically, Royce went from wild rapper to dad of the year (almost).

4ļøāƒ£Meet Drew Horowitz: The Sober Coach Who Helps You Crush Goals and Look Cool Doing It

Drew Horowitz is kind of like a life coach, superhero, and best friend all rolled into one—for people who are working hard to stay sober. He runs a program that helps folks get their lives back on track using their own strengths (like bravery, honesty, and maybe even a killer sense of humor). Drew doesn’t believe in one-size-fits-all advice—nope! He customizes each plan like it’s a smoothie made just for you.

He also helps families stage interventions, which is sort of like a surprise party, except the gift is a chance at a better life. Drew’s team offers support for everything from mental health to job goals, and he’s got fancy degrees to prove he knows his stuff.

Basically, if you want to crush your goals, kick bad habits to the curb, and feel like a rockstar doing it, Drew’s your guy. He makes sobriety strong, smart, and surprisingly stylish.

5ļøāƒ£From Hot Mess to Healing Hero: How Aaron Barnes Turned His Life Around

Aaron Barnes used to be the life of the party—until the party lasted 20 years too long. He started using drugs and alcohol as a teenager while lifeguarding and things spiraled from there: failed college stint, drug dealing, arrests, marriages (yes, plural), divorces (also plural), and enough drama to fill five reality shows. Fast forward to 2015: Aaron was in bed, sweaty, sick, and stuck—so hooked on painkillers he couldn’t even make cereal for his 8-year-old son. Just when things seemed hopeless… cue superhero music—his mom showed up and dragged him (lovingly) to rehab. There, Aaron ditched the old ā€œjudge-yā€ mindset and tried new healing things like meditation and sound baths. He even started each day with a quote that helped flip his thinking: ā€œEverything that happens to me is the best possible thing.ā€ Now, Aaron helps others stay sober too. Basically, he went from hot mess to healing hero.
