We spend so much time avoiding it... but what if instead we embraced it. Yes, I'm talking about FEAR.

What a GREAT Show.... We defiantly saw that one coming 😂

Nobody wants to think about the worst case scenario. Like their business failing, or their marriage falling apart. Or what could be behind door number #2.

No we don’t. But we must. We MUST.

Because if you can’t imagine it, you can’t prevent it. This is, of course, precisely what Seneca, an ancient philosopher of Stoicism and the pre-curser to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, spoke about over and over again. The unexpected blow lands heaviest, Seneca wrote. All the terms of the human lot should be before your eyes.

We owe it to ourselves, our family, and our dreams. Being naive? Not wanting to consider the unpleasant? Insisting that these kinds of things don’t happen to people like us? This doesn’t make those things less likely to happen. All it does is make it certain that if they do happen, you'll be unprepared. You’ll be exposed. You’ll be on the back foot.

This is a type of mental training. Envisioning the worst case scenario. Like if stumble across our vices, alone, in the room.... We can say to ourselves... Ah yes, this is exactly what I thought might happen. And I am trained and ready for it.
