Close your eyes and take a deep breath in, just like a surfer riding a big wave. Except, in this case, the wave is your breath and the surfboard is your mind. You're floating on top of the water, feeling the ebb and flow of the waves as they come and go.
But wait, there's something different about this wave. It's not like the other waves you've surfed before. This wave is called the "Anxiety of Not Drinking Alcohol" and it's a real doozy. It's big, it's scary, and it's threatening to wipe you out.
But don't worry, you've got this. You take another deep breath in, and as you exhale, you imagine yourself riding the anxiety wave like a pro. You're carving up the wave, doing all sorts of fancy tricks, and the anxiety can't keep up.
You start to feel more confident, more in control. You're no longer afraid of wiping out and getting eaten by a shark. In fact, you're starting to enjoy yourself.
You take another deep breath in, and this time you let out a big "Woo hoo!" as you ride the anxiety wave all the way to shore. You've conquered your fear, and you feel amazing.
As you open your eyes and come back to reality, you realize that you don't need alcohol to feel this good. You just need to trust in yourself and your ability to ride the waves of life, no matter how big or scary they may seem.
