1️⃣ Khadi Olagoke – Founder, Sober Black Girls Club

Khadi Olagoke is like a superhero for Black women in recovery! In 2018, she created the Sober Black Girls Club because she noticed there weren't enough places where Black women could get support for staying sober. The club has a lot of cool stuff, like virtual meetings, mentorships, support groups, and even a blog to share experiences. They also have a medical fund to help members get the healthcare they need. With over 600 members, it's a judgment-free zone where women can be real and get help with their recovery journey. Olagoke says honesty and community are the keys to staying sober, and she's not stopping anytime soon. She plans to open a physical space for the club, so even more people can join the awesome movement!

2️⃣Katherine Haley – Recovery Advocate and Ivy Leaguer

Katherine Haley’s story is the ultimate example of turning your life around! After a tough decade battling addiction and losing both her parents, she didn’t just survive—she thrived. Thanks to the support of the Taunton recovery community, Katherine crushed it academically, becoming valedictorian at Bristol Community College (yep, top of her class!) and later got into Brown University, which is basically the VIP club of colleges. Now, she’s using her experiences to give back, aiming to make a big splash in psychology through writing and research. Katherine’s journey shows us that with hard work, determination, and a little help from the right people, you can bounce back from anything. So, if you ever doubt the power of community support or resilience, just think of Katherine—she’s got the degree to prove it!

3️⃣Jamie Marich – Trauma Specialist and Recovery Educator

Jamie Marich is a trauma therapist, author, and educator who’s been open about her own journey to recover from alcohol and opiate addiction. She’s the genius behind "Dancing Mindfulness," a fun and therapeutic way to heal that combines dancing with mindfulness. But that’s not all—Jamie also founded The Institute for Creative Mindfulness, where she teaches others how to use art and mindfulness to recover from trauma. Her methods help people feel supported, safe, and empowered as they heal. Thanks to Jamie’s work, many have found new ways to cope with tough experiences and move forward in life. By blending creativity, movement, and mindfulness, she’s made healing a little bit more fun—and a lot more effective. So if you’re looking for a creative, positive way to heal from trauma, Jamie’s got the tools to help you dance your way to a better life!

4️⃣Jennifer Storm – Author, Advocate, and Voice for Survivors

Jennifer Storm started drinking at just 12 years old and was full-on addicted by 15. But here's where it gets really amazing—she didn't let her past define her. Instead, Jennifer became a powerful voice for survivors of addiction and trauma. She wrote books like Blackout Girl and Awakening Blackout Girl, where she shares her personal story of struggles and recovery. Her work is all about helping others who’ve been through similar tough times, especially those dealing with addiction and sexual trauma. Through her books and advocacy, Jennifer shows that no matter how dark the journey may seem, there’s always hope for a brighter future. She’s not just telling her story—she’s inspiring countless others to heal, grow, and reclaim their power. Her message is clear: you can rise from anything, and Jennifer’s here to help you do just that!

5️⃣Katie Witkiewitz – Psychologist and Researcher

Dr. Katie Witkiewitz is a super smart psychologist and the big boss at the Center on Alcoholism, Substance Abuse, & Addictions. She’s all about helping people make small, positive changes with their drinking instead of saying, “No more drinks, ever!” Dr. Witkiewitz has shown through research that even just cutting back on alcohol can make a huge difference for your health. She’s on a mission to challenge the old way of thinking that says you have to quit everything or you’ve failed. Instead, she’s all about finding smarter, gentler paths to recovery. Her work gives hope to folks who want to feel better without the pressure of going all-in on total abstinence. Dr. Witkiewitz is changing lives, one small step at a time, showing that every little bit counts in the journey to better health!
