โœ’ Self-Care Hacks โœ’

Ah, self-care. That elusive beast we're all supposed to be chasing, but who has time for that? Between work, family, friends, and Netflix, it can be hard to find a spare moment to take care of ourselves. But fear not, my friends, for I have a self-care tactic that is not only effective but also kinda fun: creating a vision board!

Now, I know what you're thinking. "A vision board? Really? That's so cheesy." But hear me out. A vision board is a powerful tool for setting and achieving your goals. Plus, it's a great excuse to cut up magazines without getting in trouble.

So, here's what you do. Get a poster board, some glue, and a bunch of magazines. Flip through the magazines and cut out images and words that represent your goals and dreams. Want to travel more? Cut out pictures of beaches and foreign cities. Want to start your own business? Cut out pictures of entrepreneurs and success stories. Want to learn how to knit? Cut out pictures of...well, you get the idea.

Glue all your images and words onto the poster board, and voila! You have a visual representation of your dreams and aspirations. Hang it up somewhere you'll see it every day, and let it inspire you to take action toward achieving your goals.

"But wait," you say. "How does this help reduce anxiety or depression?" Well, my dear friend, research has shown that having a sense of purpose and meaning in life can improve mental health outcomes (Steger et al., 2012). By creating a vision board, you're giving yourself a tangible reminder of what you're working toward and why. Plus, the act of cutting out and arranging images can be a calming and meditative process, which can help reduce stress and anxiety.

And if you really want to up the self-care ante, I challenge you to a game of Saturday Self Care Bingo. On Saturdays, try to complete as many activities as possible to get a bingo. And if you don't get a bingo, who cares? You still took some time for yourself, and that's what really matters.

So, my friends, get out those scissors and glue sticks and start creating your vision boards. And don't forget to take some time for yourself every Saturday. Your mental health will thank you.
