Think about how far you've come. Did you ever hope to have what you do now?
😂 Meme Therapy: Black Friday Funnies
In case you’re still recovering from yesterday’s heavy Thanksgiving dinner, we’ll keep the daily dose of therapy light & fluffy for you today. Meme Therapy it is! Because how else should we enjoy Black Friday than by laughing at the people who ruin it for the rest of us? If you’ve braved the stores today, our thoughts are with you, & congrats on the sales. You can find us in the fridge diggin’ for the leftovers.
Look! Someone left their power wheels in the cart. Oh no, wait...hmmm.

These pups knew the treats would go quickly!

And just like that, we go from, "Please pass the peas." to "Gimme that toaster!"

May the odds be ever in your favor!

At 11:59 on Thursday...

Please remember to focus the camera.

Of course, we should all remember this is just in good fun. If you are braving the stores today, remember to pray to your Higher Power for tolerance & good health for everyone in the crowd.
🧘Daily Meditation: Practice Patience
Patience. Kids ages 6-60 are expected to be able to control themselves & practice patience. (Before & after that, exceptions can be made.) Many in recovery say that patience is not one of their strongest qualities. But good things take time, just like our recovery. With ourselves, we should remember, it is going to take time to unlearn old habits & create new ones. But what about patience with others? There are a few things you can do to increase your level of patience.
Set realistic expectations. If you’re going to the mall at the height of the shopping season, you should expect some delays. If there’s a school bus in the parking lot of the drive-thru, it’s probably going to take some time to get your order.
Put yourself in another’s shoes. How blessed are you to have money to go shopping? Are you thankful that you can afford that fast-food meal? Somebody else may be waiting in line at a food bank. Take time to have some gratitude & be mindful of those that aren’t as fortunate.
Just breathe. In the grand scheme of things, is waiting 10 extra minutes really that big of a deal?
Spend time communicating with your Higher Power before & after you find yourself in a situation requiring patience. Remember we’re not the ones in control, the God of our understanding is.

"I always felt so alone when I was drinking. Even in a crowded bar, it was only me in my situation. But I’ve never had to feel alone in recovery. Partly because my sister got sober 6 months before me so we had each other. But also because I quit distancing myself from the life that was happening all around me.
I never have to face a problem alone again. And it’s strengthened my relationship with my sister and has opened up a whole community of people that welcomed and cared for and loved me even when I couldn’t love myself.
Finding the right recovery program, developing a relationship with my Higher Power, and building a strong support system were the keys to my sobriety. Some days are harder than others but I’m living proof that it really does work if you work it."
